Parking for Persons with Mobility Impairments
Signage on the North side of Capitol Avenue will direct patrons displaying a valid accessible parking placard to spaces within the State of CT Health Lab parking lot. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Valet parking is also available to all patrons at a cost of $8.00 per vehicle.
Entrances
The main entrance for The Bushnell is fully accessible and is located on Capitol Avenue, through the new Box Office Lobby. An accessible entrance is also located on Trinity Street at the West Marquee.
Restrooms
The Bushnell is equipped with accessible restrooms on most levels of the facility. There are two family accessible restrooms within the facility, located off the Grand Foyer in the East Marquee hallway, and on the third level of the Belding Theater.
Pay Phones
Accessible volume controlled pay phones are available in the facility on most seating levels. A TDD/TTY equipped pay phone is located in the new Box Office lobby.
Elevators
Most public elevators are equipped with Braille buttons for access by persons with visual impairments. Elevator Attendants are in place for those elevators not equipped with this feature.
Beverage Services
Accessible bars are located on most levels of the facility. The cafe located in the new Box Office Lobby is accessible as well.

Our Box Office is equipped with a Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD)/Tele-Typewriter (TTY) to provide information and for the purchase of tickets. The Box Office is open Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 12 p.m. - 4 p.m., as well as through intermission of all Broadway Series performances.
Large Print Prompters
Text portions of The Prompter are available in large print format as a supplement to our regular program for selected performances. These Prompters are available by visiting the Customer Relations center, or in advance by calling (860) 987-6000.
Readers
Volunteer program readers will be provided for persons with visual disabilities upon request.
Infra Red Listening System
Headsets are available during all performances and can be used in both theaters to assist with amplification and clarity. T-straps and ear buds are also available for patrons who use hearing aids. These devices are available from the Customer Relations Center before and during all performances. A driver's license or other photo ID will be required as a deposit. Patrons bringing their own headset should make sure they function at FM frequency 2.3 MHz.
Interpreted Performances
The Bushnell provides interpreting services for selected performances of The Hartford Financial Services Group Broadway Series. Interpreted performances for the 2008-2009 season to be announced.
Seating:
All seats are on the Orchestra level of Mortensen Hall. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited seats are available.

Service Animals
Although animals are not allowed within the facility, an exception is made regarding service animals for patrons with disabilities. Please contact our ADA Coordinator if any accommodations are required.
Chemical Sensitivity
The Bushnell understands that many guests are allergic or sensitive to chemicals in aftershaves, colognes, and perfumes. The Bushnell requests that patrons refrain from wearing artificial scents of any kind when attending performances.
Emergency Evacuation Assistance
Bushnell employees and volunteers have been trained in proper procedures for emergency evacuation situations and are responsible to assist patrons with disabilities to specific locations.
Smoking
The Bushnell is a smoke-free facility.
