California Pizza Kitchen Donates Pizza Sales To The Bushnell

HARTFORD, Conn., May 17, 2002 - California Pizza Kitchen, which recently opened at Westfarms Mall in Farmington, will donate all proceeds from pizza sales on June 5 to The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts.
The money will go toward The Bushnell's nationally-recognized arts-in-education program, PARTNERS (Partners in Arts and Education Revitalizing Schools), a cross-community educational effort serving 40 schools in 17 districts throughout the Greater Hartford area.
"California Pizza Kitchen believes in being a good community neighbor and this event with The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts is an example of that," according to Israel Perez, General Manager of CPK at Westfarms.
Besides helping The Bushnell, patrons dining at California Pizza Kitchen on June 5 will also receive free CD samplers and $10 ticket savings coupons to the Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida, premiering at The Bushnell May 29-June 9, 2002 as part of the Phoenix Broadway Series.
"We are excited about the opportunity to work with California Pizza Kitchen on the opening of their new restaurant at Westfarms," said David Fay, executive director of The Bushnell. "This is a definite win-win for The Bushnell and CPK. We encourage people to participate in this event which will help us help local students."
California Pizza Kitchen, Inc., founded in 1985, is a leading casual dining chain in the premium pizza segment. The restaurant features hearth-baked pizzas, salads, soups and sandwiches. The chain operates, licenses or franchises 131 restaurants of which 102 are company owned, and 29 operate under franchise or license agreements.
