Comedians Announced for First Ha! Ha! Hartford! of the New Year!

Join comedians Melvin George, RC Smith, and Pete Michaels for an uproarious evening of laughter Friday, January 29, 2010.

Hartford, CT – December 10, 2009 – Join 96.5 TIC’s Damon Scott as he hosts The Bushnell’s first Ha! Ha! Hartford! of 2010 on Friday, January 29 at 8:30 pm in Belding Theater.  The evening will feature the comedic talents of Melvin George, RC Smith, and Pete Michaels.  Ha! Ha! Hartford! is sponsored by United Technologies Corporation.  Comedians have been booked with the assistance of Treehouse Comedy Productions (www.treehousecomedy.com).

Tickets for Ha! Ha! Hartford! are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting The Bushnell Box Office at 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford or by calling (860) 987-5900.  Tickets may also be purchased online at www.bushnell.org.  Groups of 10 or more should call (860) 987-5959.  Tickets prices are $18-$25.  Ticket prices do not include all applicable fees.  This show is not recommended for children under the age of 17 due to some content intended for mature audiences.

Ha! Ha! Hartford! host Damon Scott is also host of 96.5 TIC-FM’s weekday afternoon show “The Damon Scott Show.”  He's been in broadcasting for over 18 years. Damon is a regular contributor to the Satellite Comedy Network and operates his own production company producing commercials and imagery for stations all around the country.

Melvin George - A trained actor and director, Melvin used his theatrical training as a member of "The Kitchen Table Comedy Team" in New York, making appearances at Carnegie Hall, The Village Gate and on several local TV shows. Melvin has appeared in concert with such celebrated artists as Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Roberta Flack, Patti LaBelle, The Commodores, The Temptations and The Four Tops.  He has been seen in the films Mo’ Better Blues and Meteor Man. Melvin also appeared on Fox’s "Comic Strip Live," A & E’s "An Evening at the Improv," "Caroline’s Comedy Hour" and HBO’s "Def Comedy Jam."

RC Smith is currently the warm-up comic for "The Rachael Ray Show" and has also done warm-up for  "The Colbert Report,"  "The Tony Danza Show," “Who Wants to be a Millionaire," "The Caroline Rhea Show," "Ricki Lake" and NBC's "Clash of the Choirs."
 
Pete Michaels has opens for such luminaries as Sherman Hemsley, Jamie Foxx, Bobby Vinton, Michael Amante, Gabe Kaplan, Pat Cooper, Jerry Vale, Al Martino, Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge, The Coasters, The Drifters, Sinbad, David Alan Grier, Mark Curry, and Martin Lawrence.  His many television appearances include “Showtime at The Apollo,” “Uptown Comedy Club,” Comedy Central, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” Canada’s “Comedy at Club 54,” “The Daily Show,” and “America’s Talking.”  His current line-up of puppet friends include: the space alien Krelmin, the flamboyant Milo DeVille, and the lovable Papa. Not to mention his finale, the "re-union" of Sonny & Cher with real HUMAN puppets!
