Hartford, CT – September 17, 2007 - During the summer of 2005 the gulf coast was devastated by hurricanes. The rebuilding has been slow but progress is being made. This all new video presentation by John Holod will show that despite all the destruction there are still beautiful places to visit. Come see this story of courage and compassion at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. The engagement is part of the William H. Mortensen Travel Film Series and will be presented in The Bushnell's Maxwell and Ruth Belding Theater.

Areas explored include Sanibel Island, Cabbage Key, Cayo Costa State Park, Boca Grande Tarpon Springs, Weeki Wachee, Cedar Key in Southwest, Florida, and Apalachicola, Panama City, Destin, and Pensacola in the panhandle. Gulf Shores, Dauphin Island, and Mobile are the highlights of the journey through Alabama. The Mississippi areas explored include the Mississippi coast, Biloxi and Gulfport, Waveland and Pass Christian and the beautiful white sand beaches of Ship Island, part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. In New Orleans film-makers spend some time with church groups from around the country who volunteering in the city's restoration efforts; plus "Cajun country" near Lafayette Louisiana is also explored. In Texas, the group visits Port Arthur, which was also hit by forgotten hurricane Rita. The 1500-mile adventure ends on Padre Island.
