Hi-5 brings Hi-Energy to The Bushnell

HARTFORD , CT – February 1, 2007 – Hi-5 has made it to the big time – and now they’re Hartford bound!  Following their Broadway debut in New York , the critically-acclaimed, two-time Emmy nominated children’s act will bring its latest “hi-energy” live concert to The Bushnell for two performances on Monday, February 19 (President’s Day) at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at The Bushnell Box Office, located at 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford , or by calling the box office at (860) 987-5900. Tickets are also available online at www.bushnell.org .

“Kids love dancing and singing along to the fun, upbeat sound that is Hi-5’s signature, and the group’s live concerts are always ‘hi’-octane events,” said Helena Harris , Founder of Kids Like Us and Creator and Executive Producer of Hi-5.  “We’re delighted to see children share in the excitement and magic of Hi-5 in person and we look forward to another successful stateside tour beginning this month.”

Hi-5 is the newest – and coolest! – children’s sensation to grace the preschool programming arena.   The group and live show are based on the original production, which launched in Australia and is now considered to be the #1 kids property, besting even fellow Aussie-based success story, The Wiggles.   In the U.S. , the popular program is seen in over 85 million homes each weekday on Discovery Kids and TLC.  The talented Hi-5 cast consists of five ethnically-diverse role models, Jenn, Kimee, Curtis, Yasmeen and Sydney, who encourage preschoolers to get active by dancing and singing along, while they learn important developmental concepts across all educational categories from logical thinking and math to music and linguistics.

Hi-5 has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Preschool Series” two years in a row.  Their CD Jump & Jive with Hi-5 from Koch Records has earned a Parents’ Choice Award and the DVD Hi-5: Music Magic won the 2004 iParenting Media Award for DVD/video.  The group has made four headline-grabbing appearances on NBC’s Today show.  The critically-acclaimed troupe has been labeled “the new Fab Five” by the New York Daily News, which proclaimed, “NY kids are so over The Wiggles – now they’re hooked on Hi-5” (“The new Fab Five,” 6/24/06).

In other Hi-5 news, two new DVD releases from Well Go USA, Hi-5: Move Your Body and Hi-5:Action Heroes, are available this season at retail stores nationwide, including Target, Borders, Kmart, TysToybox.com and Amazon.com.
